The last shot

It has been a beautiful fall weekend here in North Carolina. The leaves are brilliant yellow and orange and red with a fair amount of green still mixed in. I went out to take pictures of the trees, and pictures of Sophie in the leaves. For the puppy album, you know.

So what makes this photo of a dog sniffing crackly brown leaves so interesting? Because it's the last photo ever taken with my camera. Shortly after this shot I dropped the thing, smack on the pavement, and that was the end of that.

I got out the instruction manual to see if I could troubleshoot the problem. I now know why they call it troubleshoot, because the manual is so complicated, confusing and unhelpful that you want to shoot something. There should just be a page that says, "Give up. The darn thing's broken."

So today I am camera-less, which is okay since I haven't been making a ton of new items. If things improve I might get a new one; if not, then I take it as another sign that something else is meant for me.

Meantime, I hope you enjoy the gorgeous leaves at the top of my blog. I just love autumn.

I love autumn too. The picture is beautiful and bummers on the camera. Doggie is so cute. :)

As soon as I opened your blog and saw the new title photo I knew I was going to comment on how beautiful it is. I am SO SORRY about your camera's unfortunate accident. I hope it had a good life.

I, too, was going to comment on the new banner photo until I read your post about your poor camera. I hope you find a new one soon.

On the flipside, I just noticed you use a lot of bumpy beads and other unusual ones. I need to go through my stash and see if I have any left over from my daycare giveaways. I know I have some somewhere. :D Maybe you would like to sponsor a bead trade? *gives you a kitty-eye-batt*
